Early Ideas 3.

During the holidays, I have realised how difficult it would be to film the character Alex being hit by a vintage car, as there are many problems with real damage to the actor and the car. Therefore i have decided to change that scene to an argument with Alex's father, who does not agree with her relationship with the singer. They get into a fight, leading Alex to go to the singers house upset, showing that she needs him more than anything.

Props.

In my music video, I have chosen to use 'Monster' energy drinks within the fist half of the video. This is also a form of product placement as the logo/ name of the drink will be shown. I have chosen this prop because it would be a good technique to show how the relationship of the two characters at the beginning of the video instead of showing a form of romance through their actions as I feel it might make the actors feels too uncomfortable. However, as the video progresses they become closer, to show their "journey" together.

I have also chosen to use a Santa Cruz Land Shark longboard within the opening of my video because it fits in with the genre i have chosen of Alternative Rock. By using the longboard, I was able to create a scene involving a can of 'Monster' as the singer passes it to Alex as he skates past.

 

 

 

During the performance shown in my music video, I will be using simple musical instruments including a set of drums, guitar, bass guitar and a couple of microphones to create a scene where the band that I am promoting, is performing the song I have chosen.

 

In the video, I will be using a basic drum kit, alike the one above.

I will be using the BC Rich Mocking Bird Pro X Floyd Rose in my music video as it fits in with the genre of Alternative Rock, with the use of electric guitars.

 

I will also be using an electric bass, similar to this.

 

To complete the presentation of a performance, I will be using basic microphones.

 



Research.

Using reports found online, it shows that people who were involved in an abusive childhood are more likely to find it difficicult to be in a relationship, later in life. However, most young women, usually are in relationships with a male who reminds them of her father.

Risk Assessment.

The Band.

In my music video, I will be creating a performance to go against the narrative throughout. In the performance scene, I have chose-

Main Singer- Dan Carter. This is because his appearance suites the voice of the original singer of the track. He also suites the genre of music with both his appearance, interests and his personality.
Base Guitar- Callum Codd. This is because he plays base guitar in his spare time. He also finds the base line of the song I have chosen, very simple.
Guitar- I have not yet chosen a guitarist.
Drums- Jack Wilson. This is because he plays the drums in his spare time. However, he is uncomfortable on camera, but i will not be focusing on him within my video.

The Main Characters.

For my music video I want a main singer who fits the genre of alternative rock. I want an actor who looks similar to the singers in alternative rock videos. Therefore, I have asked Daniel Carter to be my main singer.
By looking at the main singer from You me At Six, Josh Franceschi, he has dark, styled hair,  dark coloured eyes and has facial hair. He usually wears dark clothing, such as skinny jeans and band t-shirts. He also wears hoodies, Converse styled shoes and beanies

Daniel, the actor I have chosen also has dark, styled hair, dark coloured eyes and has facial hair, similar to Franceschi. Dan usually wears dark clothing such as jeans. He also wears band t-shirts or dark coloured shirts, converse styled shoes or assault boots, beanies and leather jackets or hoodies.





For my music video, I want a main actor to play the singers girlfriend, Alex. By looking at other music videos in the alternative rock genre, i have chosen my younger sister, Rebecca Clarke, to play this part, as she looks very similar to most females in these videos.



 Here in You Me At Six's Underdog, this actor is wearing dark makeup around her eyes. She also has dark, back combed hair, Looking at the picture of Rebecca below, she looks ever alike to the actor in the music video shown.
  

Character's.

For my music video, I will be using two main characters, which are the main singer and the girlfriend of the singer.
I want the main singer to have long, dark hair, wear dark clothing such as a leather jacket, shirt or band t-shirt, skinny jeans and converse styled shoes. When he is performing in the video, i want him to be confident with what he is doing. Whereas, within the narrative, i want him to act shy, yet comfortable with her. This will show that they have a strong relationship.
I want the singer's girlfriend, Alex to also have long, dark hair. I also want her to wear similar clothes to the singer, but show that she is very feminine with the way she wears the costume. Within the beginning narrative, i want her to act similar to the main singer, when they are with each other. However, later on in the video, to show that she is more uncomfortable being with him, to show the leading up to an argument.

Why this person has been chosen - As it is my A2 peice, I have chosen to do the work alone.

What the job entails - playing the character of the main singer in both performance and narritive.
Why this person has been chosen - Fits the stereotype of the genre (alternative rock) and is good at acting.







Job role 3 - Actor (as girlfrind, Alex).
Name - Rebecca Clarke.
What the job entails - playing the character of Alex, the singers girlfriend in the narritive.
Why this person has been chosen - Fits with the genre of alternative rock, pretty and good at acting.













Job role 4 - Actor (as Alex's father).
Name - Andrew Ward.
What the job entails - playing the rold of Alex's father during the narritive.
Why this person has been chosen - Contrasts with the genre, looks fearful, fitting his character profile.
